In a significant development, the Enforcement Directorate issued summons to three additional Bollywood celebrities, namely Kapil Sharma, Hina Khan, and Huma Qureshi, in connection with the Mahadev online betting case.

New Delhi: One day after summoning Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor in the Mahadev betting app case, the Enforcement Directorate has extended its summons to actor-comedian Kapil Sharma, actress Huma Qureshi, and Hina Khan in connection with the same case. According to a report by News18, the investigative agency has requested these actors to appear before them on Friday, October 6. The actors have not yet responded to this latest development. It had been previously reported that the ED was scrutinizing the attendance of at least 17 Bollywood celebrities, including actors, singers, and comedians, who had participated in a wedding event hosted by the organizers of the betting app in the UAE.

On Wednesday, actor Ranbir Kapoor was summoned by the agency in connection with the Mahadev online betting app case, with a directive to appear before the investigative agency on October 10. According to sources within the Enforcement Directorate, Ranbir Kapoor had endorsed a subsidiary app that was also promoted by the promoters of the Mahadev Book app. The Mahadev Book app, an online betting platform, is currently under investigation by the ED as well as various state police departments.

Based on digital evidence collected by the Enforcement Directorate, it was revealed last month that Rs 112 crore had been transferred through hawala to an event management company, while cash payments totaling Rs 42 crore were made for hotel bookings.

During the previous month, the agency conducted multiple raids in cities such as Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai, resulting in the seizure of assets worth Rs 417 crore in connection with the online betting case.

Back in August, the agency had announced the arrest of at least four individuals in connection with this case.
