ATM machines are also gathering dust. In such a situation, many cases of SIM card fraud have increased. Taking the matter seriously, the government has made a new rule regarding SIM cards to break the back of increasing frauds. In which SIM card verification has been made mandatory for the dealer selling SIM. If any dealer does not follow the orders of the government. Then action will be taken against him. Along with this, the concerned dealer will also have to pay a fine of Rs 10 lakh.

Biometric verification required

Let us tell you that according to the new rules, police and biometric verification has become necessary for the dealers selling SIMs. Along with this, the government has also stopped the system of purchasing SIM in bulk. According to the information, a new concept of business will be implemented for SIM purchase in bulk. Government can allow bulk purchase of sim only for business group, corporate etc. According to the rules, if a company wants to buy SIM in bulk, then individual KYC will be mandatory in that too. Otherwise the purchase will not be allowed if there is no SIM.

Will have to pay a fine of 10 lakhs

According to Union Minister Vaishnav, there is a new guideline of the government that there is a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh for selling SIM cards without police verification. The Telecom Minister also told that there are about 10 lakh SIM card dealers in the whole country. It will be necessary for all dealers to get police verification done. Not only this, registration of all POS dealers will also be mandatory. After the launch of the Sanchar Sathi portal, he has deactivated about 52 lakh fake connections. Not only this, the entire 67 thousand dealers have been blacklisted. In which there are about 300 such dealers against whom a case has been filed.

Misuse will be controlled

Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told that those who buy SIM in bulk misuse the SIM a lot. They are used for cheating and fraud. Taking the matter seriously, a ban has been imposed on the purchase of SIM in bulk. It will be necessary for the group and the company to register for the purchase of the SIM. Along with this, under the business concept, they will be given the facility to buy a SIM card.
