Sahara Refund Portal: Steps to guide depositors to claim refund

On July 18, 2023, Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS)-Sahara Refund Portal was introduced by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah.

Who is qualified to receive a refund via the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal?

True and legitimate depositors of the following four Sahara Societies will be refunded through the CRCS Sahara Refund Portal: a. Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata. b.Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow. c. Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal. d. Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad.

What documents must be attached to the application
The depositor must attach the following documents:
a. Certificate of deposit / Passbook
b. Complaint request form
c. PAN Card (if the benefit amount is Rs 50,000 or more)
Aadhaar seed bank account, membership number, Aadhaar linked mobile phone is mandatory.
Please note that the depositor must complete one claim form with all claim details separately for each deposit in all Sahara communities where the depositor has outstanding fees.
How to register on the Sahara Refund portal
Step 1: Visit CRCS Credit Portal website –
Step 2: Click on Depositor Registration button, to register you need to enter 12 digit membership number, last 4 digit Aadhaar number, 10 digit Aadhaar linked mobile number, captcha and press “Get OTP”
Step 3: Enter the OTP received on the linked Aadhaar mobile number and complete the registration process.
How To Apply For Sahara Refund Portal: Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: On the depositor login screen, enter your Aadhaar number, last four digits of your Aadhaar linked mobile number, captcha and click on “Get OTP”.

Step 2 Enter the OTP received on the Aadhaar linked mobile number.

Step 3: Once the depositor is logged in, he will see the Aadhaar consent screen. Once you have agreed to the terms and conditions by clicking the “I agree” button, proceed to the next page.

Step 4: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and click on the “Get OTP” button on the personal details screen. The OTP is sent to the depositor’s Aadhaar-linked mobile phone.

Step 5: Enter OTP and click on Confirm OTP button.

Step 6: After OTP verification, the system will display the user’s Aadhaar details such as First Name, Middle Name, Surname, Date of Birth, Father’s/Ed’s Name.

Step 7: User can also write an email, click “Save Email” and press “Next”. Step 8: The depositor enters the information as shown on the screen
Step 9: Click the “Add Claim” button and the depositor will see all the details in the grid below. Here the depositor can add several advertisement details.

Step 10: Once all the claim details are entered, create a pre-filled claim.

Step 11: Attest the recent photograph and sign the photograph along with the application form.

What should the depositor do after verifying the requested information?

After confirming the required information, download and print the application form. Insert a current snapshot and sign the photo and form. Finally, scan, download and submit the claim form.
How does the depositor know whether the claim for compensation will be granted or not? The depositor will be notified of this via text message/email

How does the Depositor get a refund / the requested amount? The refund of the claimed amount will be credited directly to the Depositor’s Aadhaar seed bank account only after 45 days of the successful submission of the claim.
