Donald Trump Jr.’s Social Media Account Hacked: Offensive Tweets and False Death Announcement

Early on Wednesday morning, a startling incident unfolded on social media when Donald Trump Jr.’s account on X (formerly known as Twitter) fell victim to a hack. This unfortunate breach led to a series of offensive tweets and even a false proclamation of his father’s demise, causing quite a stir on the platform and beyond.

The hack commenced with a tweet at 8:25 a.m. from Don Jr.’s account, making the shocking claim, “I’m sad to announce, my father Donald Trump has passed away. I will be running for president in 2024.” This startling message was quickly followed by a flurry of clearly hacked posts.

Among the inflammatory tweets was one that declared, “North Korea is about to get smoked,” while another falsely depicted Don Jr. engaging in “interesting messages with Jeffrey Epstein,” despite Epstein’s passing in 2019.

The false news of Donald Trump’s death immediately gave rise to disbelief and confusion among users, with many speculating that Don Jr.’s account had fallen victim to a breach. On Twitter, the term “Hacked” began trending as users discussed the unfolding situation.

However, to put to rest any doubts about his well-being, former President Donald Trump himself issued an unrelated message on his own social media platform, Truth Social, at 8:46 a.m., more than 30 minutes after the false death announcement.

The first report of the hack came from Raheem Kasam of The National Pulse, and it was subsequently confirmed by Donald Trump Jr.’s team. The erroneous news of the former president’s passing was promptly debunked as entirely untrue.

In addition to the false death announcement, the hacked tweets contained derogatory remarks aimed at X owner Elon Musk and offensive language directed at President Joe Biden. The usage of racist language in one tweet potentially put the hacked account at risk of violating X’s terms of service, which could result in consequences for the account in question.
